On 15th February 2025, BioCosmos Kenya Student Club Subcommittee hosted the National ID Festival and Crossfire event at UoE, bringing together teams from universities and secondary schools. This exciting event provided a platform for student clubs to showcase their understanding of the Theory of Intelligent Design, demonstrating their dedication and depth of study.
Engaging with Intelligent Design
Participants, who had spent quality time studying the Theory of Intelligent Design, primarily based their study groups on Prof. Kjell Tveter’s book “The Little Book of Creation,” renamed “A Short Introduction to Intelligent Design.” Accompanied by a Study Guide Workbook, this book served as the foundation for the Crossfire event, which was based on its 21 chapters.
Competitive Spirit and Awards
The Student Club subcommittee offered several awards for participants, sparking fierce competition across all categories. These included songs, poems, spoken word, narratives, solo verses, and choral verses. The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants were evident as they delved deeper into the theory and expressed a desire for more similar events in the future.
Auditions and Judging
The competition began with final auditions to select teams and items for the event. Seasoned and objective judges were engaged to vet the teams, ensuring a fair and rigorous selection process. The high standards set by the judges added to the competitive spirit of the event.
Promises for the Future
Dr. Lencer Ndede, Coordinator of Student Clubs in Kenya, promised club members and patrons an even more vibrant, explosive, and competitive festival within the next few months. Her commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging environment for the study and promotion of Intelligent Design was well received by all participants.
Conclusion
The National ID Festival and Crossfire event was a resounding success, highlighting the students’ dedication to understanding and promoting the Theory of Intelligent Design. The event not only provided a platform for academic and creative expression but also fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among participants. We look forward to more such events that continue to inspire and challenge our young scholars.
