Mr. Dag Kr. Norli is the Chair and CEO of BioCosmos Africa, a Norwegian trust dedicated to promoting the concept of Intelligent Design. He also serves as the Chair of BioCosmos Tanzania and is a board member of BioCosmos Kenya.

Mr. Norli’s educational background is in Business, Management, and International Marketing. He is an alumnus of the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture in Seattle, USA, where he received training in Intelligent Design in the Natural Sciences. He has also attended the African Seminar on Intelligent Design.

In his role, Mr. Norli has been instrumental in organizing public lectures and conferences to discuss Intelligent Design. For instance, he delivered remarks during a public lecture and certificate award ceremony for the first cohort of the Certificate Course in Intelligent Design at the University of Eldoret.

Dr. Richard Ochieng´

Chair BioCosmos Kenya

Dr. Richard Ochieng’ is the Chair of BioCosmos Kenya Trust Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting the theory of Intelligent Design, which posits that many features of the universe and life are best explained by an intelligent cause.

In his role, Dr. Ochieng’ has been instrumental in organizing public lectures and seminars to introduce and explore the concept of Intelligent Design. For instance, in November 2023, he, along with colleagues from BioCosmos Africa, delivered lectures at Kyambogo and Makerere Universities, discussing Intelligent Design and its implications.

Dr. Ochieng’ has also co-authored a book titled “Beyond Evolution: Unraveling Intelligent Design in Nature’s Blueprint” with Dr. Lencer Ndede, contributing to the academic discourse on Intelligent Design.

Additionally, he has been involved in launching educational initiatives, such as the Certificate Course in Intelligent Design at the University of Eldoret, aiming to equip learners with evidence supporting the theory of Intelligent Design.

Through these efforts, Dr. Ochieng’ plays a significant role in advancing the understanding and discussion of Intelligent Design within academic and public spheres.

Prof. Donald Otieno

Board Member

Prof. Donald Otieno is the Dean of the School of Science at the University of Eldoret in Kenya.

He holds a PhD in Plant Systematics and serves as the Head of the Department of Biological Sciences at the same institution.

His research interests include biotechnology, ethnobotany, ethnomedicine, and traditional medicine. He has authored 23 publications, which have collectively garnered over 760 citations.

In addition to his roles at the University of Eldoret, Prof. Otieno is a member of the Executive Committee of the Kenya University Quality Assurance Network (KUQAN), contributing to the enhancement of quality assurance in Kenyan universities.

His contributions to academia and research have significantly advanced the fields of plant systematics and ethnobotany in Kenya.

Dr. Morris Maingi Mwatu

Board Member,

Dr. Morris Maingi Mwatu is a lecturer in Geography at Alupe University in Kenya. He holds a PhD in Geography from Egerton University, where his research focused on climate change and variability information dissemination for agricultural decision-making, as well as livelihood vulnerability to climate change and related adaptation strategies.

In addition to his academic role, Dr. Mwatu serves as the Organizing Secretary for BioCosmos Kenya, a foundation dedicated to promoting the concept of Intelligent Design. He has been actively involved in organizing public lectures and conferences to discuss Intelligent Design, including a one-week series of lectures in September 2023 that culminated in the 2nd Annual BioCosmos Conference.

Dr. Mwatu’s contributions to both academia and BioCosmos Kenya highlight his commitment to advancing knowledge in geography and fostering discussions on Intelligent Design within academic and public spheres.

Dr. Lencer Achieng' Ndede

Dr. Lencer Achieng’ Ndede is a lecturer in Literature and Film Studies at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in Kakamega, Kenya. She serves as the head of the Literature sub-section within the Department of Languages and Literature Education.

Dr. Ndede earned her PhD in Literature from the University of Nairobi in 2021, with a thesis titled “The Aesthetics of Crime in Kenyan Films: An Examination of the Paradox in Nairobi Half Life and The Kitchen Toto.”

Her research interests encompass film criticism, literary criticism, and cultural studies. She has written and directed several stage plays and produced two feature films. Her current research explores human behavior and Intelligent Design, investigating how innate human mechanisms may indicate the presence of an intelligent designer.

In addition to her academic roles, Dr. Ndede is a board member of the BioCosmos Kenya Trust Foundation and serves as the National Coordinator of BioCosmos Student Clubs in Kenya. She has been actively involved in promoting discussions on Intelligent Design, delivering lectures at various institutions, including Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Ndede co-authored the book “Beyond Evolution: Unraveling Intelligent Design in Nature’s Blueprint” with Dr. Richard Ochieng’, contributing to the academic discourse on Intelligent Design.

Rev. Fr. Martin K. Tanui is a Roman Catholic priest affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Kitale, Kenya. He also serves as a lecturer in Religion/Religious Studies at the University of Eldoret.

In his academic capacity, Fr. Tanui has contributed to scholarly discourse, including authoring works such as “Polemics as a Religious Phenomenon: A Roman Catholic and an Emic-Etic Approach to a Religious Polemic.”

He is also a member of the Pan-African Dialogue Institute, where he collaborates with other scholars and practitioners to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue across Africa.

Through his roles in both religious and academic institutions, Fr. Tanui contributes to the promotion of religious education and interfaith dialogue in Kenya and beyond.

Dr. Simon Gisege Omare is a scholar specializing in African Religion and the Sociology of Religion. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya.

Dr. Omare’s research interests include African Religion, Sociology of Religion, Religion and Environment, and Religion and Development. He has been cited over 160 times in scholarly works.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Omare is active on social media, where he shares insights related to his fields of study.

Through his teaching and research, Dr. Omare contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between religion and various societal factors in the African context.

Prof. James Nkansah-Obrempong

Board Member, BioCosmos Kenya

Prof. James Nkansah-Obrempong is a distinguished theologian and ethicist from Ghana, currently serving as a Professor of Theology and Ethics at Africa International University (AIU) in Nairobi, Kenya. Since 2010, he has been the Dean of the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) at AIU.

He holds a PhD in Theological Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary in the USA.

Prof. Nkansah-Obrempong has made significant contributions to theological literature, including authoring the book “Foundations for African Theological Ethics.”

Beyond his academic roles, he serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Africa Network for Animal Welfare, reflecting his commitment to ethical considerations in various facets of life.

Through his extensive work in theology, ethics, and leadership, Prof. Nkansah-Obrempong has significantly influenced theological education and ethical discourse in Africa and beyond.

Dr. Gift Mtukwa is a Board member of BioCosmos Kenya and Patron of BioCosmos Kenya Students Club – Africa Nazarene University Chapter. He is an ordained minister with the Church of the Nazarene and teaches in the Religion Department of Africa Nazarene University. He is currently the Chair of the Department of Religion and Christian Ministry at Africa Nazarene University. Mtukwa is also the the lead pastor at the University Church of the Nazarene which meets at the campus of Africa Nazarene University. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies, a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of Manchester and a Master of Arts in Religion, Bachelor of Theology from Africa Nazarene University. His research interests are in contextual readings of Scriptures, African Biblical Hermeneutics, Thessalonians Correspondence and the intersection of Work and Community.
