PROFILE OF SPEAKERS 

Mr. Dag Kr. Norli (Main Speaker 1)

Mr. Dag Kr. Norli is the CEO/Chair of BioCosmos Africa. His educational background is in Business, Management and International Marketing. He is an alumnus of the Discovery Institute, Center for Science and Culture in Seattle, USA where trained in Intelligent Design in the Natural Sciences in the year 2021 and also attended the African Seminar on Intelligent Design during the 2021 fall. Mr. Dag has studied ID for years and read various books released on the subject of Intelligent Design.

Dr. Casey Luskin (Main Speaker 2)

Dr. Casey Luskin is a scientist and an attorney with graduate degrees in science and law, giving him expertise in both the scientific and legal dimensions of the debate over evolution. He holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Johannesburg where he specialized in paleomagnetism and the early plate tectonic history of South Africa. He earned a law degree from the University of San Diego, where he focused on First Amendment law, education law, and environmental law. His BSc. and MSc. degrees in Earth Sciences are from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied evolution extensively at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and conducted geological research at Scripps Institution for Oceanography. Dr. Luskin has been a California-licensed attorney since 2005, practicing primarily in the area of evolution-education in public schools.

In his role at Discovery Institute, Dr. Luskin works as Associate Director of the Center for Science and Culture, where he helps direct the ID 3.0 Research Program, and assists and defends scientists, educators, and students who seek to freely study, research, and teach about the scientific debate over Darwinian evolution and ID. Dr. Luskin has lectured widely on ID at university campuses and conferences on four continents, and has coauthored or contributed to multiple books.

Casey is a Christian with a Jewish background. His special interests include geology, science education, biological origins, and environmental protection. He and his wife reside in the Seattle region, where they enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, sailing, and other outdoor activities.

 

Dr. Brian Miller (Main Speaker 3)

Dr. Brian Miller is Research Coordinator for the Center for Science and Culture at Discovery Institute. He holds a BSc. in physics with a minor in engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in physics from Duke University. He speaks internationally on the topics of intelligent design and the impact of worldviews on society, and helps manage the ID 3.0 Research Program. He also has consulted on organizational development and strategic planning, and he is a technical consultant for TheStartup, a virtual incubator dedicated to bringing innovation to the marketplace. He has contributed to multiple books and journals covering the debate over intelligent design, including The Mystery of Life’s Origin: The Continuing ControversyThe Comprehensive Guide to Science and Faith, and Inference Review. He is a regular contributor to Evolution News & Science Today, and the ID the Future Podcast.

Prof. Kjell Tveter (Speaker 4)

Prof. Tveter is a Norwegian surgeon with vast experience of many decades. In his early years of clinical practice, he served for one year in Africa, at a missionary hospital in the province of Kivu, Congo. Prof. Tveter did pioneer research work on the prostate, leading to his Ph.D. He has been a professor of urology and general surgery for 23 years in Norway, and head of the Urological Department at various leading university hospitals. He has been teaching medical students, nurses, and mentoring colleagues to their academic thesis, and has had various engagements in the US universities as Visiting Professor.

Prof. Tveter has a Christian worldview. He has dedicated his retirement life to studying Human Origins. He has spent some thousand hours, reading books and working. He is the author of four books. Prof. Kjell is a founder member of BioCosmos Africa.
